Perched on 58th Floor of the newest Banyan Tree Hotel is Horizon Grill, an all day contemporary restaurant with the best steaks, seafood and drinks in town. I had high expectations and I was thrilled to dine at Horizon Grill. While the restaurant has both a relaxing and casual ambiance, there is a buzzy vibe dining in with killer views.
The horizon Grill offers two seating area, the sophisticated indoor and the trendy al fresco dining space with a breathtaking view of the city’s skyscraper.
We had a lovely breakfast at Horizon Grill that brings a different vibe at daytime.

Starters
We kicked off with hot and cold appetizers; Rod had Grilled King Prawn (RM 149) while I pandered into Foie Gras Terrine (RM 128), which was very rich, and with a buttery texture. Bring the livery taste much softer – almost melt in my mouth.
The candied hazel nut crust compliments well with the Foie Fras. I relished my appetizer as much as Rod did. He seemingly enjoyed the Grilled King Prawn that he can’t resist to share it to me. The succulent prawn was delicious with the right balance of chili and Garlic flavor. Great match with Cous-cous shredded Coconut and Citrus Salad zest.
Mains Dishes
As for the mains, our highlight was indeed insanely satisfactory. Rod raves much about how Bultarra Australian Outback Saltbush Lamb Rack (RM 198) was the best take he ever tasted and to which he sliced a portion for me. The knife by the way has a great selection, which was presented by the waiter. So Rod got to choose the right size and weight for his knife. Sounds tremendously awesome! We got to taste a little both of everything at Horizon Grill.
I had Seared Atlantic cod (RM 168). The garlic foam on top of the cod looks exquisite and too lovely to eat. The espuma of Idaho potato that came with the fish was extremely soft and creamy. There is something missing on the cod’s flavor, nonetheless, the baby spinach harmonized the taste well. Additionally, the Italian sparking wine white Prosecco paired faultlessly with the cod.
Desserts
There is no better way to end a meal with sweet-smelling desserts. Rod had chocolate–Passion Wood (RM 26) that will send all chocolate lovers to cloud nine. It looks gorgeous with the Vanilla Ice Cream on top and taste even impeccably along with the chocolate mousse.
I had Red Berries Merveilleux that was recommended by Chef Daniel. I nodded as it sounds very Frenchy. More so it was elegantly presented with flair. The French Meringue has the right amount of sweetness. The kind of meringue that will not make me get a sore throat. Not only the presentation looks fabulous, the taste knocked me off my feet.
Horizon Grill is another delight to add to KL list. From the Meticulous attention to detail, Creative Cooking, Gorgeous presentation, excellent service, to the magnificent view of Kuala Lumpur’s Skyline, makes it a memorable 5 star Gourmet dining experience. Thanks to Banyan Tree for having us.
