The Museum Coffee and Tea Corner is an absolute gem at Centara Grand Resort best known for its afternoon tea. The beautiful museum ensnared visitors for an ultimate classy high tea.
The Ambiance
The Museum used to be a reception area of the Centara Grant Resort & Villas in Hua Hin. The wooden furniture and resort’s memorabilia of the past will take you back to the time where the resort all began. Thought it would be great to spend our afternoon in Hua Hin with some Flamingo tea overlooking the lovely topiary garden.
We sampled two of The Museum’s Tea set. The Hua Hin Classic set and the new Colonial set served in a box.
Hua Hin Classic Tea Set
The Hua Hin Classic Tea comes in a rattan round ball filled with appealing savories. The banana leaf and the white flower makes it vibrant adding more to a tropical vibe.
The appetizing savories were beautifully presented which includes minced pork salad in cucumber, coconut chicken vol au vent, pandanus scone with local fruit jam, chicken satay wrap with pickles, Thai Waffle Roll, Luk Chup, Lemongrass passion fruit cheesecake, sago, panna cotta, mango sticky rice sushi, and a caramelized shrimp ball with pineapple.
We had The Museum’s signature Flamingo Tea, which fits perfectly with the flamingo style garden. I relished all Hua Hin Delicacy fusion and surprisingly all were a palate teaser! I’m a sago snob and Kom’s fancied the sago a lot. At times, we are a total opposite that balance our friendship.
My picked in the set would definitely be the caramelized shrimp ball, a rare delicacy in Hua Hin. The Sweetness from the caramel, saltiness from the shrimp and the citrusy from pineapple are sublime!
The Hua Hin Tea set gives a traditional afternoon tea with a local Twist!
Colonial Tea Set
The colonial Tea set is served in a creative black box. Each box features a variety of enticing bites. The selection includes pumpernickel triangle with smoked salmon, coffee crème roll, raspberry panna cotta, chicken salad in a soft roll, air dried beef, kiwi cheese cake, cole slaw vol au vent, feta cheese puff, scone with whipped cream and jam, chocolate cake, mango vanilla tarlet and chili chocolate praline. Truly sumptuous!
Koms fell in love with the raspberry Panna Cotta and she mentioned that whoever invented it was a genius and that I should blog about it! I let her relished the Raspberry Panna Cotta as I’m not really a fan of raspberry flavor. I indulge into Kiwi Cheese cake and the pumpernickel triangle with smoked salmon was made to my liking!
Klook.comStaff
The ambiance was just as soothing as the staff. There were very attentive to our needs. We were taken care of Khun Ao, She never fail to refill out cups with tea and asked us if everything was all right.
The excellent range of savories did not fail to entice me. We’re only in Hua Hin for a couple of days and we were glad we made it here.
Seriously, what’s not to love about afternoon tea? We whiled away our afternoon on a gracious old world charm set between the lovely garden and overlooking the sea.
The museum is definitely a sanctuary for a calming afternoon tea ritual that makes me breathe and live in the moment.
What a fabulous Teatime!
