I bet an afternoon tea is not everyone’s priority when they visit Taipei. Everybody’s attention and eyes are hooked into famous night markets, get in queue to Din Tai Fung, finding the best milk teas in the city, munching the XXL chicken and the list could go on and on.
I just adore afternoon teas, cosy cafes and hidden lanes. Ms. Lin Café is definitely a great find! It is hidden in one of the quiet lanes of Songshan district, yet it is easy to find. The façade looks elegant with the classic blue dominates the cafe. The glass sliding door enhances the outlook of the shop giving a little overview of how the inside look like.
It was Christmas Season when we visited the café. I admire the festivity decorations that made me feel the spirit of Christmas. I picked Chamomile tea in a heartbeat and mom selected the Berry blush infusion which by the way, taste good, too!
The Afternoon Tea Set is packed with smoked duck breast salad with vinegar sauce, croissant stuffed with shrimp, avocado and chanterelle. On the same plate, a creative pasta with meatballs on a stick were offered, too! Top of the layer is the star of all afternoon teas no other than the scones. If you’ve been following my afternoon tea adventures, you know for a fact that I am a jam snob! I always match my scones with classic clotted cream. Speaking of Clotted cream, Ms. Lin’s Café cream is utterly delicious and it’s homemade! The whole set is big enough for sharing! My mom and my aunt though ordered some food for brunch and we did not regret sampling them! In fact, I would highly recommend brunching here too!
We added Eggs Benedict, Mushroom Chicken Salty Pie Pastry, Little Iron Pot Truffle Chicken. The salty pie vanished on the plate in a matter of minutes! I would argue that they have the best Salty Pie ever! It’s entirely packed with awesomeness! You should give it a try! The beautiful aura of the café ties the food they served! It’s not a café where you go because it looks very instagrammable, it’s a café you go because the interior exudes exquisiteness and the food is superb which will make you keep coming back for more!
Do you know that Mi Shilin is Mrs. Lin, her craft for food and pastries is the core and pride of the café? Everything is made of love and passion that delivers nourishing food with a comfortable dining experience.
I love the attention to details, beautiful Christmas Tree on the wall, the modern brass chandelier with glass globes, stylish dried flowers in corners, comfy sofas, and
The spoon by the way is.
GOLD!
In Ms. Lin Café, it’s the little thing that makes a big difference.
