When you are visiting Sydney, you can’t miss the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. It’s one of the most iconic places in the world. My trip to Sydney was unplanned but turns out it was one of the most amazing trips I had. Sometimes booking a trip with no plans no itineraries or guidelines is fun but planning on the other hand is essential too. So if you dont know where to take the best photos of the famous Opera House and the bridge you might want to consider the following.
1. Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair
It’s a bit of a long walk from the Circular Quay and I think the best way to get to it is by walking through the Royal Botanical Gardens. I visited early in the morning and regret not seeing the sunset. The place is also perfect for picnics with friends and family with terrific views of the city but if you’re traveling solo like me, enjoy an early walk in the garden, savour your solitude or you can sit on the chair and pretend to be Mrs. M.
Mrs Macquarie have an absolutely good taste for choosing her spot with perfect views not only just the opera house but as well as the Harbour Bridge too. So go here and join her with this great views.
2. Circular Quay
Circular Quay is home of the Sydney Opera House. The area connects ferries, trains and buses that’s why it’s always bustling. Probably the most famous view point of the Bridge and the Opera house. I’m sure you wont miss this.
3. The Rocks
Cool place to walk around with historic touch. It’s a charming area to chill with cafes, lively bars, restaurants and plenty of shops. Love the vibe here. It’s amazing how old friends pick this area to catch up over a couple of beers.
4. Ferry to Manly
Clever way to get an amazing view of the Sydney Harbour is from the ferry to Manly. The ferry moves slow so you can take a glimpse of the Bridge and the opera house. The view is superb for an inexpensive ride. Make sure to get ready with your camera and don’t miss to capture the scenery whilst on board.
The bridge itself is impressive. The view from the bridge is breathtaking. I don’t see any reason why you should not to. If you have extra bucks, you can opt for pylon lookout and climb all the way to the top.
6. Taronga Zoo
I was surprised to see the Harbour Bridge, the Opera house and a stunning view of the city from the sky cable and other parts of the zoo. If you are fond of animals this could be a great place for you plus the lookout is fantastic. Riding a cable car few times after an exhausting walk around the zoo can be relaxing and yes surprisingly with great views!
My favorite is the view from Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair. It’s free and the view is just perfect. There could be a lot of best places for photo ops of the Opera House and the Bridge.
What about you? What are the places to take the best photo of the harbour Bridge and the Opera House and what’s your favorite spot?
