Azul Beach Club is arguably one of the first Tiki Bar in Bali. Situated in the Padma Street Legian Bali, this open-air Beach Club and restaurant has the best crafted signature cocktails. Handmade premium concoctions with Balinese ingredients that fits perfectly to the local’s tastebuds and travelers seeking for an ultimate beach club experience.
We came to sample the Tiki Signature cocktails and Azul’s cuisine. The beach club is built in a unique Three-storey Treehouse – exquisite, posh, and funky yet doesn’t losses its Balinese charm. The breathtaking sunset in Legian Beach as a backdrop is just like no other. I mean, who doesn’t love having a cocktail in a treehouse whilst enjoying the dramatic sunset views? You’ll instantly fall in love with the place.
They served the cocktails in an impressive ceramic Tiki cocktail mug, creative glass and even treasure chest box! We had sampled some of their signature Tiki’s like the Vacation in a glass – the name itself implies your holiday drink! I picked that drink in a heartbeat, it comprises of mix vodka, passion fruit and pineapple juice with a kick of sparkling wine – taste so refreshing! I didn’t expect it to be so tall – hands down to the team for serving it generously. A great start for a sundowner! Leah chose the Tiki Puka Puka – an interesting mix of rum, almond syrup, and amaretto liqueur with a smack of orange and pineapple juice. Fresh and tangy! It was served in a clear glass hanging in a wooden stand – how wonderful!
For starters we had Spiced Crispy Calamari. I don’t know about you but when it comes to having meal in an Island, Calamari will be my first choice! It was perfectly cooked with the right about of breading and not rubbery. The squid ink aloli and nam jim dip are next level! We also selected the Grilled Jumbo Prawn served with baked cauliflower potato tart, baby spinach salad. The basil and garlic sauce compliments well with the prawn. They totally nailed this dish! No wonder it’s a Chef Recommendation. We figured we’d love something meaty, and the 12-hour cooked Crispy Balinese Pork Belly caught our attention. Think about it, 12-hour sounds interesting. It was soft, tender, rich with a succulent flavor. Delicious bite, indeed. We ended our scrumptious meal with Cocoa Millefeuille served with morella cherry sorbet. What a lovely dessert!
We thought we’d stay for a while – the music is good and not too loud. We fancied another drink, Naked Ape sounds just right – an exceptional homemade cinnamon rum, banana liqueur, and apple juice served in an inspired wooden tiki style. This one became my instant fave! Mai Tai sounds so classic and to omit that would be a total missed out. It was strong and intoxicating!
The awesome vibes, tropical breeze, sunset scenes, delish food, coconut trees swaying, artistic Tiki cocktails, posh Treehouse, and the hospitality of the staff sums up our extraordinary experience in Azul Beach Club.
Would swing by the next time in Bali.
