Dusun by OpenHouse is the new Restaurant nestled on the ground floor of Bangsar Shopping Centre. The resto garnered lots of attention through social media including me. I was lured by the huge tree surrounded by bamboo sticks – looks very alluring and inviting.
Rustic, tropical vibe with a touch of modernity. I would say that the restaurant ambiance is top notch. The food however is so-so. Portions are too small and overpriced. We had Chicken Chop (RM37), Taco Mak (RM39) and Chicken Rice (RM39). Food was served beautifully especially the Chicken Chop and the Chicken Rice – the sauces, veggies and banana leaf made the overall presentation so vibrant! Apparently, the taste doesn’t match the exquisite plating. Food will leave your tongue greasy and coated. I’m all about food. Price is just secondary. If the food is expensive with great taste – I would understand. Probably if we ordered other dishes – it would change our perspective? Perhaps, try some drinks for sundowners?
The queue. Oh yes, the queue is also grueling. Like most new restaurants, I’m assuming they’re still trying to cope especially people flock together to check out the place. Hopefully this will improve in the future. So many aspects to enhance for sure. The restaurant is just right on roadside, and it can get pretty hot. Luckily, the trees and greeneries were big help!
Tasteless, expensive, and slow service. Won’t return.
But I’d like to say that the enormous tree enveloped by bamboo twigs swept me away. 🥰
