Heesan Kopi in Jalan Hang Jebat looks like an ordinary shop outside but the moment you enter, it’s a coffee oasis right in the smack of the busy Jonker Street. The stunning Sou San mural on the wall greeted us. The heritage vibe is spotless. The Café counter with its vintage thermos, Chinese old plates, classic clocks, antique lamps and hanging plants that sets the mood are organized well. I’ve never seen a counter with such intricate details. Rattan chairs and wooden tables were strategically placed in purpose to make the café look more spacious. The yellow pendant lamps hanging on the ceiling add warmth and atmosphere into the café.
We started off with the Signature food of the day “Curry Laksa” and Smoked Duck Aglio e Olio. The Curry Laksa aroma smells so good. They’re also generous on the toppings, overflowing with awesomeness and soup is rich and flavorful that we sipped it too fast! The Smoked Duck Aglio e Olio on the other hand needs more flavor but nevertheless the smoked duck is plentiful. The Lattes that were served to us taste creamy and subtle. Desserts though are a must! We picked Burnt cheesecake and Chocolate Mousse in a heartbeat. Can’t go wrong with Heesan Desserts! Perfect combination for coffee!
Heesan Kopi is a great café for quick stop on a hot sunny afternoon or after a long walk from the Jonker Street. There’s also a stair that leads you to a quirky rooster work of art at the rooftop which is great for photo ops. A fantastic feel right in the heart of the Heritage site! I can’t believe I missed this before. What a great find!
We arrived at Heesan with an empty stomach and left with a happy tummy. Whether you’re looking for a breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon delight or even for an early dinner. Heesan Kopi will surely be the cute place to get your coffee fix!
