Kafe Kleptokrat in Jalan Tun H S Lee is an archaic café by the pool for an ultimate café experience. A Vintage shop house crooked into a quirky café that looks like you’re in a dreamy vacation somewhere in Bali. That café with private pool is certainly one of its kinds in KL, and more so an Instagrammable spot in town. The best take away though is the vibes that literally revive the nostalgia of the old days.
It’s exquisite – Every corner is charming and classic with a side of trendiness. No doubt about that. It’s in fact the very thing that intrigues me aside from the archetypal Siphon Coffee Drip. Weekend is a perfect time to explore Kafe Kleptokrat with friends over brunch by the pool!
We fancied, Rendang Daging (RM 23), Ham & Cheese Sandiwich (RM 20), Lontong Kering Pakcik Alam (RM 22) and Smoked Salmon (RM 26). Disappointed that the Siphon Brew that initially lured me to Kafe Kleptokrat wasn’t available. Luckily, they have Vietnamese Coffee – It was a relieved! Everyone ordered the same drink.
Aside from the local favorites and sourdough sandwiches form the Brunch Menu, the café also served an Australian century old Cottle Coffee. The food we ordered was quite filling, especially the Smoked Salmon Sandwich that I picked in a heartbeat, its home made with cream cheese, fresh tomatoes, dill and pretty satisfying. The nachos chips that come along with it was plain tho, it would be perfectly exceptional with some salsa dips. My friend’s verdict with the dishes that they individually selected was quite average, but we could all agree though that the Rendang Daging was beautifully presented that looks it more inviting!
It’s very hard to get a seat by the pool, as it is quickly becoming a crowd favorite. At times, when a café gets hectic, the service becomes slow. We waited to get the spot that we’d love. Ya know for the gram. We waited for 15 minutes for the food to be served; – not bad, considering they set proper expectation for the time frame and with the picturesque ambiance, we’re sold!
I’d probably come back for the Siphon drip once it’s back!
And probably for the 100-year-old traditional Australian blend roast Cottle Coffee!
Once again, KL is always on top of its game to a never ending and trendiest Brunch Cafes. Cheers to a Cantik Cafe!
