We tossed our diet plan out of the door the moment we entered Nizza, a French-Mediterranean Restaurant at Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara.
The modern interior is sleek, warm and stylish. The ceiling is so artsy that conveys inspirational quotes and messages that will make your day bright. Inspired by the French Rivera, I can almost feel the vibe of the Cote d’azur through the views of Sofitel’s modish aqua pool, and the sophisticated open-air bar.
The white and blue flooring, table tops, and menus also denotes the coastline atmosphere of the dreamy French Mediterranean region.
Focaccia
We started our meal with Focaccia, a house-baked bread with a similar consistency to pizza dough. Nizza served Focaccia as an appetizer to every meal. It was totally enticing! We can’t get our hands from tasting and dipping it to its lavish artichoke dip.
La Pasta
Nizza provides La Pasta selection to pasta lovers. We picked the wild mushroom Fettuccine (RM 48). The smoked peppers and Portobello mixed with porcini and rocket leaves thrown with truffle oil compliment the richness of the dish. I’m not a fan of pastas, however, the creamy mushy taste of the pasta caught me by surprise.
Pissaladiere French Pizza
One of Nizza Specialities is their craft for Pizzas! Since Mar is allergic to seafood, we opted for Wild Mushroom Truffle (RM 95). Another Mushroom in the house! Looks like we can’t get enough of mushrooms! The vinaigrette and the rocket leaves tasted really sumptuous! They’re like soulmates, they perfectly balance each other. The crusts were thin and crisp, moreover I sprinkled sea salt and pepper into it. I respected the flavour and it really tasted like it has been made by a professional Chef.
From Nizza’s Coal Fired Oven
It is time for the main course beast! Dry aged beef fascinates me. It just smells like buttered popcorn with an intense beef flavor. We selected both dry aged beef in the menu. 120-day aged Black Angus Rib Eye 300 gram (RM 165) and 120-day aged Black Angus Sirloin 250 gram (RM 125). Steaks are expensive as expected, nevertheless the lushness of its flavor are extremely sophisticated. It comes with a variety of selection of two side dishes and a sauce of your choice. Mar hand-picked béarnaise sauce and I had lemon and herb dressing. Mar and I switched sauce the moment I realized that béarnaise is more juicy than the latter. I kind of like the taste of béarnaise on my steak, it really goes well with it. As with the side dishes, we shared grilled Sigar highlands farm vegetables, slow roasted vine cherry tomatoes and truffle fries with Parmesan chips. Everything looked like it was picked freshly from the garden.
Dessert
Ah! Our stomach was really full, nonetheless a meal cannot be complete without satisfying that sugar rush call of duty. We had Homemade Lemon and Mint Gelato: (RM 18) and Trio Chocolate tart (RM 32). I am not a mint enthusiast, yet I fell in love with the choc tart that so chic with a classical taste!
It was unbelievably a satisfying dining experience!
