Vintage Travel Theme Birthday Cake from Vonz Cake

Celebrating Birthdays during quarantine can be challenging, especially when you can’t just throw a party ‘cause it’s lockdown and social distancing is the new norm. It’s been more than a decade that I had a birthday bash, ever since I started travelling, I made a tradition to travel during my birthday. This time is quite different. Due to coronavirus, there will be no flights, no meeting of people from different walks of life, no daring adventures like Shark diving, and no complete stranger sing happy birthday to you in their language, but it doesn’t mean amazing birthdays can’t be done at home.

I get myself a cake from Vonz Cake and it’s just not the usual cake, it’s a Vintage Travel Theme Cake! Vonz Cake specialized in customizing cakes for birthdays, weddings, anniversary, baby shower and pretty much all occasions. Normally we sent out designs of how we want the cake to be. In my case, I just told her, I’d like a vintage cake, Travel Essentials and my future travels that is South America. I had no idea how it will look like and I was pretty impressed! She’s like a fairy cake godmother who turned simple ideas into an amazing one!

The cake was a masterpiece. It comes in a vintage suitcase with world globe map on top with an airplane and clouds as a backdrop. I love the significant items marking each country of my future travels to South America and my favorite places in the world! The cake taste as good as it looks. The Cake is vanilla and the fillings are Salted Caramel. The fondant cake is covered with a layer of chocolate ganache before covering it with fondant. Vonzcake told me that this is to ensure that the cake stays in a nice shape and able to stay in AC room without putting it in chiller.

Contrary to what we normally feel when slicing the cake with utterly satisfying gut, I feel bad to ruin the cake when I sliced it. It’s just too lovely to eat! I’m very choosy when it comes to cake flavors and the cake was very delicious! It’s not two sweet, it has the right amount of sweetness from the Vanilla, Chocolate and saltiness from the caramel that balances the overall flavor.

I wanted to cry, it was so beautiful and extremely delicious! Perhaps, the best cake I ever had in my entire life. Vonz Cake pretty much describes my whole 2020 travel plans, grateful that a cake can fulfilling such goals. Thanks to Vonzcake for achieving and satisfying my 2020 Travel desires.
