Wagyu Yakiniku YUI nestled in the D4 area of Publika Shopping Centre – A paradise for Beef Fanatics particularly Premium Quality Japanese Wagyu at a relatively reasonable price. Yakiniku literally means Grilled Meat or Japanese Bbq which focuses more on the quality of meat.
The wooden door and glass windowpanes façade look classic with a contemporary flair. The Engraved YUI with its Japanese Character which means “Eat Together” welcomes guest for an ultimate Meating experience. The interior is rustic industrial feel that includes a steel smoke exhaust pipe Grill BBQ in every wooden table and chair. The red sofa chair in the middle gives a divergence appearance with light bulbs on top that makes the overall ambiance simply striking. We were the only guest at that time knowing RMCO just started. The restaurant is also equipped with the necessary SOP during RMCO.
We started off with a Premium Japanese Beef Set (RM 100) which is a 150G of Japanese Beef Slices topped with green onions of 3 varieties namely Loin, Prime Loin and Short Rib along with a corn and mushroom. The slices were thinly fine and the Loin in the centre that looks like Rose look so creative. Each beef taste remarkable and my pick would be Prime Loin. On the other side is the trio appetizer Kimchi Mori (Rm15) which consists of cucumber, kimchi and bean sprouts. It’s best dip on either a wasabi or a crystal pink salt to seasoned it depending your preference. We’re not really a fan of bean sprouts but at the moment, it tastes incredibly delish. Our perspective on bean sprouts changed for some reasons. NO pun intended. We also devour into Japanese Tea and a bottle of Koikawa (RM 190), that by the way their month of Sake which perfectly blends on Japanese Beef. They recommend sampling its flavour both cold and warm.
Another thing that I would like to highlight is the Home-Made Sambal 100G (RM 15), I know you may be wondering why I would highlight a sambal in a Japanese Restaurant. Well, the Malaysian- Japanese fusion sambal taste incredibly great! They probably do have a secret recipe on that and they’re even selling it to customers too! A thumbs up that caters the local’s taste buds!
Next in line was the super thin sliced Beef Tongue! I was never into Beef Tongue (RM 25) because of its distinctive smell but after tasting the one’s from YUI, I will never look back on how I taste Beef Tongue ever again. It taste perfect when paired with lemon and salted Sea weed. Hands down!
Last but not the least is the Spicy Ramen (RM 25) loaded with Wagyu beef, Veggies, Egg, spring Onions and its literally spicy to the core! I can handle spicy however at that time, my partner indulged into more of it because prior to that, I was having some sore throat. You can opt for the non-spicy if this is not your thing.
Wagyu Yakiniku Yui served fresh beef, chilled and never frozen. When it comes to quality, I am impressed how excellent it is. They really nailed it!
I can’t wait to return and sampled their Exclusive cut which sounds so promising!
Jom Yui!
