Hotel Maya is an urban retreat right in the heart of KL and a walking distance to the twin towers. The hotel has been awarded for excellency and best boutique hotel in Malaysia. Imagine that this hotel has been operating for more than 20 years and still continuing to make progress and development. It’s a mark that the hotel stands the test of time.
The hotel’s hydrotherapy pool lured us for an ultimate stay-cation. I notified the hotel that we will be checking in late and upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the staff. Looks like he is expecting our late-night arrival. Checking in was such a breeze!
Studio Room
The staff escorted us to our room. The room reminds me of a classic hotel chamber with a sophisticated mood. Glass windows, glass sliding door, even glass door shower! That’s what makes the room inimitable. From the glass window, I can see half of the twin towers! I could imagine 20 years ago when there were no new buildings blocking the skyline view from Hotel Maya. The view of the Petronas towers would absolutely be dazzling!
All bathrooms in Maya have bath tubs! The bathroom is spacious enough with a separate shower room. All complete with bath amenities, soft lighting and satisfactory.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served at Maya Brasserie. Heaps of selection from local to international cuisine is available. There’s just calmness in the brasserie and the atmosphere is definitive with its modern chairs and tables. Even at Maya Brasserie, there’s a huge glass mirror that looks very classy. The ambiance sets a warm tone and the breakfast buffet was enticing! I had croissants, ham, cheese and coffee. Looking at Koch, he picked exactly the same with a Nasi Lemak back up, though. Their Nasi Lemak is really tempting and I had few spoons.
Hydrotherapy Pool
There’s no unruffled pool than the one’s at Hotel Maya. The indoor Hydrotherapy pool soothes body pain. I instantly pamper myself. The warm water jets that specialized on targeting different parts of the body. It’s not advisable to dive here, nor swim. The are water walls and jets to be aware of, be cautious not to whack your feet or head on the walls.
As for me, I enjoyed the Shiatsu nozzle so much and it relieved my shoulder pain. I was also pretty impressed by the goose neck water jet which allows my neck and back to feel relaxed. Another pool massage called Storm walk where it targets the hips and thighs is also a must try! It felt so good. Ah, thinking about this, just want to make me do it again!
Lunch at Still Waters Restaurant
We had lunch at Still Waters, a contemporary restaurant serving a Fusion Japanese/Cantonese and Asian cuisine. The chef prepared with some new interesting menu in the kitchen which will be officially out in July. How lucky can we get? I was impressed by the taste from the alluring Chuka Wakame appetizers to the artistic Mochi dessert. Delicious and Impeccable!
