Ilaya Highland Resort in Patag Silay Negros Occidental is an exclusive resort that offers Glamping sleepovers, Villa Overnights and even Day tour Packages. In a spontaneous trip to the Philippines for the Christmas Holidays, we were lucky to be able to get a slot for Glamping at Ilaya Resort.
We stayed in a Family Glamping Tent good for 5 Pax and squeeze an extra person for an additional fee. The glamping tent includes 4 single beds and 1 Queen sized bed with 2 Air fan conditioning, some warm lamp lights and a non-complimentary snack displayed on the side bar.
We were greeted by a welcome drink in the forest, and we knew that we were in for some retreat! It’s out first family gathering after 2 years of not able to see each other due to pandemic. Celebrating Christmas in the woods is such an understatement.
The pool with the view of the forest and city at the same time is my favorite spot. It’s just you’re in one of those Villas in Bali! Beautiful pool setting with a pool bar and tropical bliss.
At night we didn’t really enjoy the s’mores because the weather didn’t cooperate. We probably just had one or two S’mores before the rain pours. The staff were also lazy to set up a bonfire and didn’t provide the sticks needed for the S’mores. There’s no phone at the tent so if you need something you really need to go all the way up. It’s very inconvenient. I was told that there’s a glamp staff at the ground, but we couldn’t find one. (Basi Nag lagaw!)
Since the resort doesn’t allow any food and drink outside the resort which is really a down part especially when you want to bring your own choice of food and drinks. I mean it’s not a good thing if they literally don’t have the one that you REALLY want. Like for us we wanted to bring a charcuterie and a Champagne, but they don’t have these available with them. If they have all the things that a guest would need then I think it’s not really a problem. I adore resorts that have high respects for their guests needs rather than the benefits they’re getting from them. We don’t mind paying as long as it is the one, we need.
We picked sizzling Seafood, KBL(Kadyos, Baboy, Langka), Crispy Pata, Native Chicken Tinola and some beverage. The food was surprisingly delicious, by the way. So, I guess they nailed this part. Good food can’t complain. We had our Gift Giving afterwards which was amazing. It rained the whole night, but we just love the chilly breeze.
Breakfast was deliciously served except the waffles. Local breakfast would be your best pick here. The portion was quite generous, too!
Before we left Ilaya Highland Resort, we had some lattes. Shame that the weather didn’t cooperate, but overall experience was good.
