Stay @ Momo’s Kuala Lumpur is a Hip Hotel designed by Ian Schranger with creative micro rooms and quirky playgrounds. Located in the heart of Chow Kit, Stay @ Momo’s is such a hidden gem in the city where you can get your coffee fix in the morning, stay in the cozy rooms and at night it turns into a night out you will never forget.
Check in was such a breeze. We stayed in a minimalist room – clean, simple, and compact with a comfy bed. Neon hued hotel with crash pads, nothing fancy, yet all essential stuff in a room is all there is. Free bottle water where you can refill at the ground floor, smart TV, and a petite corner under the bed to place your shoes. And oh, the rooms aren’t soundproof, however QuietOn earplugs are available upon request. The hotel’s pretty aware of the noise from the traffic outside especially at midnight. Luckily, I typically slept like a baby and I have no issues with noises.
The playground is a space of originality and extemporaneity. This is the zone intended to create beautiful celebrations of life, events and happenings. It’s a sidewalk café, art fair, parties and talk shows. It’s a shame that I wasn’t able to explore this boutique hotel before pandemic. It could’ve been so much fun. I could imagine a night that is alive with mirth, joviality and cleverness. It didn’t lose its 80’s neon character, groovy mood and cool vibe though.
Momositi Bar, formerly known as Momosita Tacos Bar now serving a classic tender juicy cheeseburger and some cocktails. We picked Momojito and Caipirinha in a heartbeat, both best paired with the their signature grilled cheeseburger. Unique funky posters on the wall bequeath a retro style ambiance. Feelin’ like it was taken from the 70’s – 80’s vintage scene, a pretty cool night for burger bites and sips.
We had our breakfast next door’s sister company, the Chow Kit Ormond Hotel which has an elegant setting. French toast and avocado toast along with café latte and oranges were our best picks here. Impressed with the quality of the food served, especially the French Toast, not only that the portion is huge but taste absolutely delicious! Rosa though thinks that the Avocado Toast is just so so and wished she had ordered French Toast, however we both agree that the Avocado Toast looked really striking. I’m not a fan of avocado tho, Glad I chose French toast! It’s my personal favorite! Never had anything like it. I would argue that they have a great breakfast selection. Fry Up Breakfast sounds promising, would be nice to explore this historical hotel next time.
Cool staff and a customer service to a tee. Even Check out was smooth. Location is definitely a great spot, easy access to public transpo.
Our stay in Momo’s KL is so memorable. Casual pink summer chairs, lush greeneries, neon lights that briskly upbeat – I was sold!
Terima Kasih, Stay @ Momos!
