Is a picture really worth a thousand words? A photo capture a lot of things, remembers lost memories, tell tons of stories and the best thing I love about taking pictures is that it brings a great look back of my previous wanderlust and continue to dream big. I am not a photographer and I guess I don’t need to be one to capture the greatness of the places I’ve been to over a couple of years. Recently I was tagged by a fellow travel blogger April of Myitchysoles as part of the 7 Super Shots game of Hostel Bookers. The idea of the game is to choose 7 best travel photos that fit into a certain category, share them all in one blog post, and then tag five other travel bloggers to do the same. Uh oh, this game is a bit tough to select 7 shots from a thousand of photos in my mixed up albums. So here goes…
Takes my breath away…
Kayangan Lake is where my soul lies and remains to be the most breathtaking spot I’ve been so far. The magnificent rock formations and turquoise water of the lake never failed to amaze me. The stunning lime stones and spectacular post card like scenery is Palawan’s greatest asset. A trek to get up close to this impressive view of Coron is truly worth it. I am proud that Philippines offer a gateway to paradise.
Makes me laugh or smile
Babies make me smile. They look so adorable. This shot taken from Hongkong. There is something about babies that makes me joyful. Those little angels give me happiness. Babies have this amazing power to make my problems go away or at least makes me smile in a day. Their innocence creates bliss. No wonder why cute babies are head turners for most people.
Makes me think
After for what seems like an eternity we reached the womb of lahar. I saw these rock designs. Whoever made this is very creative and I salute the person for spending time to pile these rocks after a long and laborious hike. What was the person thinking when building this? It puzzles me what are these rocks are for, if it has meaning or something. Beyond doubt the person leaves an imaginative impression to me.
Makes me dream
Walt Disney said all our dreams come true if we have the courage to pursue them. I am a great fan of Walt Disney. When I was a little girl, the vision of the castle completes me. Disney has its own way of touching the children’s lives that someday somehow nothing is impossible in this world if we really want something we can get them. Seeing my favorite Disney characters which I only see on TV before makes me realize that I can dream big and make my dreams a reality. The lovely wonders of little mermaid makes me want to see the world of sea. The lion King makes me drag my feet to experience Hakuna Matata and chase my African dream. The magic carpet of Aladdin makes me want to see the world and I will. Dreams do come true. This is proven and tested.
Tells a story
The mansion was built because of love. I know this ruins has similar story with Taj Mahal. What we know is that Don Mariano created the mansion in memory of his loving wife who died giving birth to their youngest child. Who knows there are thousands of stories we didn’t know during the creation of this mansion, what happened to this elegant mansion. One can even create one’s own story being in this place. I am glad that this remarkable mansion remains and became a tourist spot in my hometown.
Makes my mouth water
Uhhhh, this lamb makes me drool. Seriously, I’m craving for this now. This dish from thunderbird’s state of the art dining services caters this amazing plate. The aroma, the looks and the taste is oh so yummy. Dinning in the luxurious hotel like this is fantastic. Leaving the word diet at home is the best way to enjoy this delicious Lamb. Hats off to Thunderbird’s best in serving food! Please pass the lamb, anyone?
I am most proud of (aka my worthy of National Geographic shot)
I am not sure if this is really worthy of a NetGeo Shot. I’ve been searching photos in my album and I really can’t decide what to choose. So here goes my love for tigers. I’ve never been to a real Safari except the ones from Calauit but this photo was taken from Chavit Singson’s Baluarte in Ilocos. This is my close encounter with a tiger and the feeling was totally awesome. I’ve got the chance to hold him and yes he didn’t bite me. The entire wild experience was marvelous!
Now it’s my time to tag five travel bloggers. Watch out for their 7 super shots revelation!
