First Stop: WonderMama X
Spotted on our list of food adventure. We wonder no more and headed to WonderMama X. I had my eye on Nasi Lemak but shifted to WM’s breakfast all set ’cause ya know I’ve been eating Nasi Lemak at the office like almost every day but when Jessy asked me to try her Nasi Lemak, I was like, jeez, I should had Nasi Lemak.
WonderMama is a local Malaysian restaurant. Since they bring out the best of traditional Local and multicultural food. I tried WM All Day Breakfast Set that includes bake beans with macaroni, toast with egg, chicken hotdog, smoke salmon, beef bacon and green salad. Love everything except the bake beans with macaroni.
And yes to the 3 layer Pandan. My tastebud love it.
There’s something about the atmosphere that made me wander. The ambiance set up is effortlessly way creative. Artistic in every way, from tinted glass window to floors and ceiling. They definitely kick-it-the-hipster-style!

Touchdown: Marutama Ra-men
Fasten your seatbelts because I will take you to Japa, wait for it nese restaurant. I’m a fan of soup (rich soup) and Marutama has it all. I usually go to Marutama at Farenheit 88 and so glad that they have new branch in Avenue K.
We initially asked for one ramen only and all of us will taste it however that passport stamp challenge, one food equals one passport food adventure stamp. The waitress served us bowl of hot ramen with seasoned flavoured egg and seaweed. As always, I love the seasoned egg. What’s nice about this Ramen is that you can choose non spicy or spice it up all the way.
Oh, that melt in your mouth pork fat was solid!

Now brewing at Avenue K: EspressoLab
There’s something about Baristas, they’re nice, friendly and they make you smile just like coffee, it brightens your day. Guess it takes one to know one. I was once a Barista and I love it when my customers are infected with my smile. At espressoLab, we were infected not just by the Baristas smile but as well as his laugh and genuity.
In my almost 3 years of being an expat in Malaysia, I’ve never been to any coffee shop that makes me feel that way. It reminds me of my favorite coffee shop in the Philippines which I often called my third place between work and home. The Cafe Latte’s aroma is alluring plus the coffee art makes it more appealing.I’m not really into sweets however out of the luscious cakes, the Vanilla Cheesecake tiramisu and Nutella Mille Crepe stands out.
I’m not sure if other branches have the friendliest Baristas too but I will definitely go back to EspressoLab especially that Summer and Sky have an eye on the coffee shop as one of our newest hang out in the city.
So go get that coffee for a quick caffeine recharge and cakes of your choice for ultimate sugar rush!

Our next Meat Up: Samba Brazilian Steakhouse Churrascaria
Samba is haven for meat lovers the brazillian way. The meat is cooked in churrasco style. The waiter sliced the huge slabs of meat from skewers into our plates and we were like, ohhh how many more meat? The waiter smiled and uttered, we have 15 of these. Yes you heard it right, 15! They offer 15 cuts of meat from lamb, squid, shrimp, chicken, sausage and even cinnamon-spiced pineapple.
The lamb with rosemary and garlic, shrimp and the Sausage are my favorites. The ambiance is superb. The air-conditioned area is filled with interesting brazillian designs and live acoustic music at the back ground. If you’re a smoker like me and love outdoor views then you may want to sit outside, from the alfresco vantage point you can take a glimpse of the view of the KLCC.
And oh, Cachaca Cocktails for the win!
Tip: Eat it while it’s still hot in your plate.

Buckle up: Sleigh Ride (not) @ Avenue K Santa’s Show
Time flies, Time checked: 4PM, We gathered at the ground floor atrium to witness Santa’s Party’ Performance. Filled with Santa sitting in his hot pink Ak Mini, Christmas decorations, you can feel Christmas is so close. Santarinas in red and green dance show time was very entertaining. The aerialist show left me speechless though.
I have no intentions to go near Santa but he came over to us. Too cute to ignore. Having those free lollipops, Summer and I felt like a little kid all over again. Say whutttt?!

Creating Sweet Magic Moments: Krispy Kreme
While most people would pick something luscious chocolate doughnut stuffed with anything sugary, I always stick to the original glazed. That Crystal texture of the hot glazed doughnut simply melts in my mouth.
Backpacking Style: Sushi Box, Maison Dlights Chocolatier, Presto Bakery
It was like combo trip, I had Salmon set at Sushi Box, Belgian white chocolate at Maison and some bread from Presto bakery. It was tapao all the way. One thing I like about this trio is that the Staffs are very friendly especially at Presto, they have special Christmas treats for everyone.

This last stop was like feast to my stomach. Hands down to their signature Tsukemen, a noodle dish with Pork slices, ramen, bamboo shoots, eggs, seaweeds served with 5 types of sauce. My picked were Soy sauce and Sesame Sauce and I’ll tell you why. This deserve a separate post. I love this restaurant, staffs are really friendly.
