Are you reluctant to return to the old routine of the office 9-5? Join the club!
Lockdown gave many of us a taste of the sweet life: a healthy work/life balance. We got to experience flexible hours, scrap the commute and, even better, work from the comfort of our sofas.
However, lockdown has prevented travel, and we nomads are itching to get back out into the world.
If you’re ready to pack in that daily grind and touch down at various exciting vistas, then here are five careers that you can do anywhere in the world.
- Bartender
Bartending might not always be the most lucrative profession, but where there are tourists, there’ll be bars… think how much the British drink when they travel!
This can be a great way to earn a little on the road to help your adventures. So, if you’re crafty with a cocktail shaker, then this could be the role for you.
The International Bartenders Association have compiled a handy guide, so you can brush up on your mojitos and martinis!
- Restaurant Critic
How great would it be to get paid to eat, rather than paying to eat?
Like with bars, there are no shortage of restaurants all over the world. If you’re a skilled wordsmith with a refined palate, then this could be the career for you.
Work as a restaurant critic isn’t the easiest to break into, but if you have the appetite to develop your writing, then you’ll be a great find for magazines all over the world.
- Teaching
Teaching doesn’t need to be limited to the school classroom – the pandemic certainly proved that.
But it does demand a well-qualified tutor, look at furthering your own education. Institutions like Anglia Ruskin Distance Learning allow for flexible, remote study. This means that you can even learn from anywhere in the world!
- Translator
An excellent option for the lucky bilinguals out there! If you speak a second language or four, then work as a translator is the job for you.
Translating documents is essential for international companies, and you’ll have the opportunity to work for some big names.
This can of course be done as an in-house position, but if you take your new career freelance, then you’ll be able to translate from anywhere in the world.
- Blogger
Your blog doesn’t need to just be a hobby.
It can take time to build your brand, and an understanding of Keywords and SEO will help you get your name out there, but once you do, blogging can turn into a lucrative career.
Post about your travels, the more you get out and do, the more content you’ll have to write about.
These are of course just five of the many careers that you can travel the world with. And, while you’re away, why not turn your home into an Airbnb? It’s better off earning you money rather than sitting empty!
