I was just searching for new travel destinations, when I crossed a new website called Withlocals. This Dutch company aims to combat the standard tourism experiences and offer an out-of-the-box experience. It offers tours, activities or delicious home dinners with locals in Southeast Asia. But for me, the most special are the eat experiences. During an eat experience, tourists are invited at a local home to eat with together with a local family. They can try out the real authentic tastes from the country and eat the favourite meals of the host. Some of the hosts also offers a cooking class with a visit to a local market to make the dinner together. It is a real win-win situation. The traveller experience the real local food and the host can earn some extra money with cooking the family’s secret recipes.
