Myanmar is one of the country I’ve been eyeing to visit because of their rich culture. Among the 10 countries in ASEAN they’re the only country that requires visa for Filipinos. At first I hesitated to visit Myanmar but when I received the postcard which Robbie of The Travelling dork sent me I’ve decided to give it a go. After all there is no harm in trying.
I was supposed to join with Claire of Iam Traveling Light and Kat of Excursionista on their adventures to Myanmar but due to vacation leave unavailability it did not push through. I ended up traveling solo to Myanmar. When I booked my Myanmar round trip ticket though Air Asia I told myself there is no turning back. I applied visa a week after I purchased my ticket.
Where to apply Myanmar Tourist Visa in Kuala Lumpur?
The Myanmar Embassy is located in Ampang Park. From KL Sentral Station, take the Kelana Jaya Lrt to Ampang Park Station. You may need to take the east exit of Jalan Ampang. Once you see the McDonalds you’re on the right direction. You may walk straight to Myanmar Embassy to which you’ll be passing a couple of Embassies like China, France, Spain or you may opt to take Taxi.
What are the documents needed to apply for a tourist Visa in Myanmar?
Application Form
Passport (Original) with 6 Months validity
Copy of Passport
Two Colour Photos with White Colour Background (within 6 months), Size 4.5 Cm x 3.5 Cm
Flight itinerary Copy (Return Ticket)
These are the only documents that they required. However I secured some other additional documents which was advised by my friends in the Philippines when they applied for Visa. Surprisingly, none of the following documents were taken. But having this documents secure is best in case they need it since the embassy has the right to ask for additional information about the applicant.
Photocopy of a valid ID
Copy of Itinerary with confirmed/reserved accommodation
4.5 Cm x 3.5 Cm Picture in a form of CD
I believe some of these additional documents are needed when applying for Myanmar visa in the Philippines.
