The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur introduces a timeless afternoon Tea on the Lawn overlooking the primeval charismatic Moorish style of Kuala Lumpur old railway station. I was thrilled to know that the best afternoon tea in the city presents this new-fangled outdoor way to relish their delectable high tea. Being a YTL aficionada and an Afternoon Tea freak, I instantly reserve a table for us in a heartbeat!
The antique wooden white patio chairs and tables along with the classic push button tilt white umbrellas were perfectly set on the lawn. Counting to the charm were incredible musicians that plays soothing melodies. We were gleefully offered to choose from some bubbly welcoming Tea-Tales drinks curated by Johnnie the Barman.
The innovative and refreshing tea tales includes three mocktails with majestic nostalgia and three cocktails that will absolutely reminds you of Halcyon days.
The Concoction of London dry gin, medley mint tea, pear puree, ginger and sparkling wine sounds good to me. I had that cocktail mixture while Nona picked Sweet Echoes Mocktail. She prefers an extra sprinkling of sweetness than the spike of alcohol in the afternoon. Surprisingly, we’re a total contradiction at times that somehow balance our friendship.
The afternoon tea comes in a lovely three tier circular box stuffed with delightful pastries, cakes, scones and finger sandwiches. We were advised to eat the cakes first before it melts. It make sense cause Malaysia is a tropical country and even in the late afternoon it gets pretty hot.
I adore the twist of Malaysian and English delicacies. I indulged in scones, smoked salmon mini sandwich, and Ayam (Chicken), yes unexpectedly they included chicken flavored in a Malaysian style which I think is such an unbelievable twist concept. Apparently Nona didn’t like the taste of the chicken and fancies to have finger sandwiches. Moreover, we both could attest that the cakes were remarkably scrumptious.
The restful sounds of violin and guitar suits the setting just right. The hotel’s elegant white façade brings a colonial vibe and the swimming pool is kind of inviting, too. The whole setting is absolutely exquisite and charming. It may get somewhat warm too and I recommend you wear something comfortable and light.
There is something so fascinating with Majestic Hotels that makes me admire them so much and I just realized that it’s their hospitality. It’s a top notch YTL trademark! The overall experience of their guests is their number one priority. From attending to your needs, refilling our tea cups, to even assisting you to take photos! Seriously, Hats off to Majestic Hotel for taking this new Afternoon Tea to a whole new level. I sound so absolutely biased, I know and I plead guilty, I’m always a YTL devotee.
